Guess what?? Mama went to the pet store today!
m
I knew she was stopping there during her errands because when she left she said, "I'm going to bring something home for you, Chef." I was so excited. It felt like she was gone all day even though it was only a couple of hours.
.
I was in the exact same spot when she came home that I was when she left - at the top of the stairs that lead to the garage - that's how much I couldn't wait for her to come home with my present.
.
Well, let me tell you - it took just forever for her to settle in. First she unloaded her groceries. Then she went back to the car and came upstairs with a pile of litterboxes. Then she went back to the car for more bags, then for her MacDonald's coffees and her purse, and other whatnots. Then off came the boots and the coat and the hat and the scarf .... and oh my God, why couldn't this be summer???
,
Anyway, I knew there was something special for me in one of those bags. But, like, when am I gonna get it?
.
Then I smelled a pig ear and a marrow bone! They were in a plastic bag on top of the litterboxes. You should have seen my nose. It was sniffling and snuffling all over the place. It pretty near came right off my face and jumped in that bag.
Oh the heavenly scent of a pig ear and a bone! You all know those smells, right? Don't they just make you berserk? Well, I ran around the diningroom table about 500 times. Then I sat in my best goodboy pose so Mama would get the message and hurry up. I was thinking oh, she better not get all compulsive on me and start cleaning the house without giving me my presents first.
Finally! "Oh looky, Chef. Look what I have for you. It's a ...."
OK, Mama, I'm looking. Just toss them this way, will ya?
Well I chewed up that poor old pig ear so fast there was nothing left of it by the time Mama went and got the camera. But here I am doin' my bone.
I'm so glad I'm a dog. If I was a cat or a bear or a monkey, I'd never know how good it is to chew on a brand new bone!
Hope you're all having a great week.
