Ice Puckey

January 12 /09
n
There's a game I like to play when I'm outside called ice puckey. Mama kicks a piece of ice towards me and I chase it, then she kicks it further and I chase it some more. Once in a while I'll kick it down the street myself and then chase after it. Whichever way we play, it's always a good time.
n
Sometimes the puckey goes flying really high and I run after it, sliding and jumping and twisting around in the air. We can cover a couple of city blocks like that. Besides being a way to move quickly and stay warm, it's just so much fun.
n
So we headed out for our late afternoon walk yesterday, except I didn't really feel like playing ice puckey. I could tell that my friend Bizou had been by on her walk and all I wanted to do was find her.

Sniff. Sniff. That's definitely a peemail from Bizou.

Mama kicked some puckeys at me but I was too distracted to keep my mind on the game. All I really wanted to do was find Bizou. I even tried to sneak across the street to look for her. I hope Mama understands that I'd much rather play ice puckey with Bizou than with her.

I shuffled the puckey around a bit just to make Mama happy. I ate some of it too.

So our game was cancelled and we just took a nice long walk instead.

..............................Bizou! Bizou! Where are you?

These videos are kind of dark. That's because the sun started to set very quickly. The only reason you can see me in the picture above is because I'm standing under a street lamp and in the glow of a car's headlights.

I do want to show you how I play ice puckey so before the winter is out, I'll get a real good mid-day game in and we'll be sure to post a video of it.

As a matter of fact, maybe I'll get some of my friends together (including Bizou) and make ice puckey teams and get a tournament going. Who knows? Maybe we'll go professional and take our games on the road! Maybe you'll want to make an ice puckey team too and then you can play with us when we visit your city!

So if you have ice and snow where you are, start practicing.

Oh yeah, girl dogs are definitely invited to play - cats and hammies too .... absolutely!

If you're ready to take your ice pucky game up a notch, have your mom put a filled water bowl outside at night. You get an ice pucky the size of a frisbee!

I can understand wanting to find your girlfriend.

Mango

We're gonna start practicing... as soon as we get some real snow. We were supposed to get a few inches this morning but temp stayed too high and it just rained. Is there a height requirement to make the team cuz Oscar is pretty small. Also, Tucker likes to eat ice cubes. He may end up eating the game. Perhaps those two should just be our athletic supporters. I'm a girl - do I need athletic supporters?

It looks so peaceful and quiet in the snow - not to mention cold! We don't get snow here, but Simon used to play with pine cones at our old house. It's sort of the same. I guess we'll just be fans when you get your team together :-)

Chef, Chef, I'm so happy that I can't bark. Your gift packet arrived today, have you got mine yet?
Whoa, whoa, whoa, I had a hard time yank it out from my puggy brothers' jaws! My mom took a lot pictures of us fighting to get the toys and blanket. We'll post it soon.
This winter surely warming up by you, thanks a bunch, pal. I treasure your friendship furever!
I hope you like my packet too, not much, just a few things specially selected for you.
Muahhhhh!
Who's that Bizou, Chef? I dream of someday, I'll be visiting you on a sunny day, just looking at your thick cold snow now is enough to feel chill down to my spine!
Muahhhh!

Chef,
I cannot practice ice puckey cause it was 88 degrees here yesterday and there is no ice to be found. I spend my days sunbathing. Sorry.
Maybe you can come to my house and we can go in the pool, ok?
See ya,
Rambo
