Happy Canadian Thanksgiving

October 12 /09
.

to all my Canadian friends!

Today is Thanksgiving here in Canada and my family sat down at the diningroom table for a delicious meal.

'Course, I had to sit on the floor.

,.

While they ate turkey ...
.,.

... and sweet potatoe

...and veggies
.

... and Bocconcini salad

.

... and wine

... and fruit.
.

Well, wouldn't you know it? Mama went into the kitchen! My timing was impeccable.

But just as I was about to nosedive into her plate, she came back and caught me. Yeesh. Her timing's better.

So I had to resort to my usual begging routine - chin on arm and pathetic gaze of starving street dog.

c And what did it get me?

Turkey in my bowl !!

Works every time

And did I "gobble" it up ... ha ha!

Actually, I was very thankful.

And I'm also thankful for being a loved dog every day of my life.

In fact, here are five things I'm most thankful for:

For healthy food and clean water
For my loving family
For my warm, safe home
For my good health
For all my good friends

... Oh yeah, for sticks, balls, plushies, my frisbee and all my toys. .
... Oh, and for sunshine and rain on my face, and wide open spaces to run and jump in that make my heart swell with joy.
Oh, I could go on and on ....
,
What are you most thankful for?

Chef!

I hope you had a grrrrEAT Thanksgiving! I got some turkey too, it was the most wonderful thing in the world! Five things I'm thankful for are food, tennis balls, a loving family, cats to chase, and trees. I mean, you've got to be thankful for trees! What else can you pee on?! (Other than the corner of the living room couch).

I hope you have a GRRRReat day ahead!

Chef, That is a great grateful list. There are so many things I am thankful for. You listed a lot of them. Although I don't really care much for sticks! I think I am most thankful for the freedom that myself and my family have living in America. So many people have died and still are dying so we can have the lives we have. I think it is taken for granted too many times by myself and most people.

Chef,
We are not allowed the "chin on the arm" maneuver or we are "banished"....but we do sit at the edge of the dining room and look pathetic as all get out, works for us.
We are MOST thankful for good home cookin' on our kibble, moderate climate so we can be outdoors all the year, bones and more bones, but TOP of the list is we are thankful on the days we find you have posted new stuff on your blog.
Mom looks forward to it and we benefit, heh, heh. She likes you a lot. She sez you shine like a good penny.
Zito, Lilly, and Jolie B, the boxers of WestOR.............uh, and mom too.

Hi Chef,

It looks like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I have to wait until November and it will be my first one! I am thankful for my mom and dad and all of the other wonderful peoples in my life and also for my cousins Archie and Herschel. They are labs, not boxers, but that's OK. I still like to play with them. :)

Abby is right ALL puppies and kitties should be as lucky as we are.

Happy Thanksgiving! You're lucky to get your turkey dinner early. Another thing to be thankful for. I'm thankful for my humans who are well trained and do (mostly) everything I want. I'm thankful for going places and meeting lots of dogs. And (yes) I'm even thankful for Arrow!

Cheffy! I got no turkey at all, but then my mom went away and me and my flat brother got to go to the country for a few days. She just got back, so we have to talk about getting together. My flat brother and you can talk about having little furs instead of lots of big ones like I have.
