Stickin' around the park

February 21 /10

Today was perfect stick hunting weather, so out I went on my first stick finding mission of the season. Snow conditions were just right too. A lot has melted so all kinds of sticks are hiding just beneath the surface where I can find them. So it didn't take me long to snuffle out the biggest, most awesome stick in this entire world! It was HUGE!

..........What d'ya think of this? Not too shabby, eh?

First I went digging for a stick that was buried deep in a snow bank. Can you hear Mama asking, "What's in there, Chef?" Well, what the heck did she think was in there?? Would I be digging like a lunatic for anything but a stick? C'mon Ma, it's me CHEF - hello-o-o....??
.
Anyway, I was just about to yank out a big one when my new neighbour Monsieur Magnum came by. No way was I going to let him see where the good sticks are buried. So I lied down like I was taking a Sunday snooze on the sidewalk. Heh. Little does he know ....

.
(If any of you see Monsieur Magnum, don't tell him where the big sticks are. It's our secret, k?)

Then I figured there's got to be some sticks someplace where there's less snow so I dragged Mama to the park. And that's where I found the XXXL stick. Actually I think it's a tree. It weighed a ton and I was having lots of trouble hanging onto it.
.

Mama had to help me carry that bugger home. She held onto one end and we dragged it down the sidewalk all the way to our house. People stared at us and smiled. I guess they thought Mama looked funny carrying a stick through the streets. 'Course, they would expect a big, burly Boxer like me to be doing that, but a human being? Now that's amusing .

.
So now I have my very first stick for Stick Pile 2010. It looks like I'm going to have a really nice collection this year.
.
By the way, I'm sorry for not visiting most of your blogs lately. We've been alternately busy and lazy and lots of stuff going on, but I promise to check in on all of you very soon.
.
Have a great week. xo
