My buddy, Sparky, nominated me a couple of weeks ago for June's Awesome Blog Award over at Dogs With Blogs' Bone Zone.

THANKS again, Sparky. There's some stiff competition and I'm honoured to be in such good company. Exercise your right to vote, doggies. The polls are now open.

(If you vote for me - THANKS!!)

I'm in the doghouse tonight because of this:

Uh ohhhh
Mama walked into the kitchen and the strap from her sandle just popped right out of my mouth ... how do you suppose that happened ??

nnnnnn

Just wanted to show you the decorative license plate Papa has on his truck... look like someone you know? ...

We've been doing our blog rounds for the Exchange and see that lots of you have received your goody packages. You all look so pleased with your new stuffs, and I'm so happy for you. If you've received your goodies, please let me know in a comment, if you haven't already, so that we can post you to the album.

Speaking of the Goody Exchange, I don't know what the heck's going on with the mail service, but I still haven't gotten my package from Beasley. I wait every day for the mail to come but it just doesn't arrive and that makes me sad. Should I bite the postman?

Please pray for my little friend Zoe, the adorable Yorkie I introduced you to a few months ago. She's been having seizures and is now on very strong medicine. She's only four pounds but she's fighting with all her strength to stay healthy.

Go Zoegirl

I was out on a walk this afternoon and bumped into a few of my sidewalk cronies. First, I met Lucky. Lucky always has lots to say about what's going on in the neighbourhood. He's my go-to dog when I need information about anything.

He was filling me on on what's been going on at the dog park during my absence.

Then we saw our big buddy, Winston. He was sitting on his porch overseeing the gardeners and his Papa planting trees. I like shootin' the breeze with Winston. He's getting on in years and just sits on his porch every day, watching the world go by. But he's a wise old Bulldog with lots of good advice for younger pups like myself and Lucky. Today, he looked very serious about his supervisory duties so we didn't want to disturb him.

Wise old Winston

Later on, my friend, Nakita, and I played with a huge stick. Knowing how much I love my stickeroos, Nakita let me have it all to myself. I love Nakita. She understands me. Maybe I'll marry her.

Anyway, that sucker was so darned big I could hardly pick it up, much less drag it home to my stick pile. So I chomped off a piece, carried it to the back yard, and did my most favourite thing in the whole world!

Chompity-chomp .... chompity-chomp

Mama ordered a couple of books so she and Papa could learn how to handle me in the ring all by themselves. They want to be prepared in case Darling Emily isn't available for a show. They're also thinking it might be fun to go through the whole show ring thing from a to z with me, instead of watching from the sidelines.

Mama's already assembled her own tackbox of supplies and she's been grooming me ringside all by herself the last couple of shows. They've observed and learned a lot about baiting, gaiting, stacking and all that, but there's stuff about technique and protocol, and what the experts call 'secrets' about good-handling that they feel they need to know.

That's all good, but I'm kind of wondering how I'm going to behave in the ring with one of my parents handling me. It could be tricky because my behavior with them is totally different than it is with Darling Emily, who I only see at shows. I've learned to stay in control with Darling Emily. Not so with Mama and Papa!

I can think of all kinds of oopsies I might do with my pushover parents by my side. What if I suddenly want to play? Or go for a walk? Or jump up and kiss them? ... or do a badboypoop? ... oooo, I don't think the judge is going to approve!! Then again, I really do miss my parents when I'm in the ring and I go all ADD on Darling Emily. But she really knows how to regain control ... my parents? Not so much.

nnnnnn

Now I see that my blog is up in Russian. OK, is this getting wierd? yAhH!

I think you should definitely bite the mailman! I'll even bite my mailman so we can make sure that they are getting the message! DELIVER MY PACKAGE TO CHEF!! THERE ARE GOODIES HE MUST RECEIVE ASAP!!!

Now, for that shoe...just that all that is dogly you didn't choose to eat any of those shoes that the humans call "juicy" I think you mighta been sent away if you ate that "juicy."

I feel like I've been missing you Chef. My human...well...she sucks. I mean CRAP!!! She acts like she's got so much going on...but I know she doesnt...but I guess maybe she does. But she just doesn't understand that her "busy" is keeping me from all that is Chef!

I am hoping you get the package this week. If not, my human will be making a trip to the post office, to exchange some not so nice words...

I hope you and your family are having a good weekend!

Oooh. Those small sandals are nice aren't they? I have only snacked on one once, but I would certainly recommend it. I particularly like plastic ones.

Hey Chef!
Just so you know, I got into a little trouble myself this week by peeing on something I shouldn't have peed on. Oh well, water on the computer as I like to say. I'd be happy to give you my vote but I'm a little confused. Do I just click on that link and leave a comment voting for you? Let me know dawg! Hope you're having a good weekend!

Hi Chef!
We received our package from Butchy and Snickers and Mom finally let us have it yesterday. She said we had to wait until the weather was nice so everyone could enjoy it. There are pics on my blog...feel free to use any of them. I have to do a "Part 2" to put us the rest of the pics. Thanks for thinking up the Goodie Exchange! It was a great idea & I hope we can do it again. Hope you get your package soon. Pawsitive healing husky energy is heading to Zoe. Hope she gets better soon!
Happy husky howls,

Hope those translation tools work OK. BLog in Russian? Have you gotten any fan mail from there?

Good luck to your parents trying to show you. Momma says its much harder than it looks (well, at least for her).

Chef....Dewey always does the visiting but I thought I would come around this time...my you are a multi-faceted doggie there aren't you? As for the flip-flops...they have a way of making their way into places they shouldn't be...sort of like a magnet....I'm sure that you didn't realize that it was even in your mouth.

Gee you have a lot of very nice friends...but the bulldog looks intimidating...I bet he scares a lot of people away just by staring at them.

How exciting for your Mom and Dad to try and show you themselves....We have a lot of friends that have been successful at showing their own wires but somehow when a well-known professional handler is in the same ring, they always win. Go figure........

Do you think the border people think there might be something other than doggie goodies in your goody box? Maybe that's why it is taking so long to reach you. Since 9-11 the whole world is all in a panic mode... for good reason... but it makes things so hard for doggies and good people to understand how the friendly trusting world that they used to live in has been lost forever. I don't think we will ever feel completely safe again.

Congratulations on your ribbons...I guess it has been too long since we last visited...you are such a handsome fellow, I can see why you are doing so well at the shows...keep up the good work and hide those sticks from everyone...you never know who may steal it when you aren't looking.
