My sister is a spy: Part 1

August 23 /08

I made an unsettling discovery yesterday, kiddos - my sister is a spy! That's right. Beauty has been eyeballing me since the day I got here and I only just figured it out. And all this time that she's been hiding from me, I thought it was because she was a afraid of me... well now I know the truth... she's been watching me from hidden places, and snitching on me whenever I do mischiefs.

It took me almost two years to blow her cover. But... well, see for yourself:

I was just passing through the livingroom yesterday, innocent as a pup, even though Mama's shoes were sitting on the couch -- my couch. I was on my way to the kitchen for a snack -- honest.

As I passed by I saw a pair of cat ears peering up from my couch like a periscope.

I gave Beauty the benefit of the doubt. She was minding her own business....maybe. What she was doing minding her business crouched down on my couch, I had no idea. But being the nice big brother that I am, I let it go. So I walked by. But when I looked back she was watching me with those spooky green eyes of hers.

If I took a step forward, her eyes followed; if I took a step backward, her eyes followed. This was not my imagination!!

The truth was revealed when I crawled on my belly over to Mama's shoes. Beauty didn't miss a trick -- she just pounced from her hiding place and landed right beside me, snarling. Was I ever shocked.

YIKES. She scared me.

It's all starting to make sense. Now I know how come she tippy-toes around the house ... and is always sprawled under the furniture or behind a plant when I'm around ... and why I've been getting away with less and less destruction lately!

OK, so I'm on to her, which is a good thing. But it does kind of curtail my mischief-making. I'm going to have to devise some clever ways to destroy stuff without Miss Snoopyface telling on me.

Anyone have any good ideas?

Hi Chef,
Wow! I can't believe your sister is a spy! I think you should hire a Chef-look-a-like, and then Beauty will follow him around, leaving you unattended to do what you would like!

Tell your cat to look in it's little red book - chairman Meow says they're all equal, SO, get her chewing on Mumma's shoes too!
It's a Catspiracy Chef - watch out!

Hi, Chef!
Sorry, I don't have experience with kitties. But maybe is a good thing that she keeps and eye on you so you won't be in trouble by your mischief-making!

Wow! Sneaky kitty! I'm glad I don't have a spy in my house. Maybe you could step on her tail a little bit so she gets the hint.

Give up. Once they have you on their radar you are cooked. Just behave yourself.

wow, that's totally scary, Chef. a cat that's a spy. well, we have a few ideas about cats, but none of them should be put into print. can't you give her that big mean-sounding bark of yours and make her hide somewhere out of sight? we don't know how you're gonna get out of this predicament.

woofs.

Oh my CRAP!!!! I knew it! I knew it! Those CATS! They are sneaky little guys! Linus hangs out in my room all the time, just watching me...I can't even chew a good shoe anymore! There is always a cat around when I'm about to strike! Can you believe this? I can't believe this! I just knew they were after ruining our times of shoe chewing. I tried to be positive and hold those CATS in light...but then they go and just stab me in the back...unbelievable...

Slurp!

Chef,

You gotta watch out for cats, they are very sneaky (and scarey). I met a cat today that was twice my size and was lookin at me like I was his lunch. Yikes!!!

I would eat her.

Or at least chase her out of the house.

At least you know who has been spying on you (and likely filling your momma's head with ideas about stuff you have done).

Can't you put a sock on her head or something?
