I'm a sad and lonely Boxer because Mama has been so freakin' busy lately and she's been spending less and less time with me. And I don't like it. Not one bit.
I've taken to leaning into Mama a lot just to make sure I'm still part of her pack. She reassures me that I am but still, between her work, and the Exchange, and her dumb garden, and everything else that she does, she's hardly been spending any time with me.
Well, that's not entirely true - we're spending different time together. When she's on the computer, I'm snoozing on the floor by her feet. But I'd much rather she be watching TV or reading so I can snooze on pillows with my head on her lap. And when she's working in the garden, I have to be hooked to my tie-out instead of running in the park, something I haven't been doing a lot of lately.

The Goody Exchange album is up and running and it's packed with pictures and blurbs from those of you who participated. You all look so cute and happy with your new goodies and I just know that you are enjoying them to bits. The exchange has had me pretty excited, knowing how happy so many of you are. If you aren't in the album yet, send me a comment here at my blog (not the album) and Mama will get you in. Bease and I are the editors, but Mama is the reporter!
Beasley got my goody package today and he seems really happy with my choice of presents. I'm really glad and I hope he has so much fun with them. His package is on its way here for me and I should be getting it any day now. I get so excited whenever I think about it, my jowls start flapping around. Hurry, Mr. Postman!!
Mama and Papa went to a family reunion in the country last weekend and left me behind. Mama tried to have the family dogs included but no one seemed to want us. Turns out that it was miserably hot and the mosquitos and black flies were biting like crazy. Mama and Papa got chewed up by the bugs in the worst way and Mama has a bad sunburn too. Silly humans. They could have stayed in the city and gone over to my pal Oakley's house and played with him all weekend like I did. Told you humans don't always make sense.

Good luck at the outdoor doggy show this weekend! And don't be too hard on your mama ;)

The garden is lovely. You really don't want to go to a family reunion unless someone is going to drop lots of goodies on the ground. Stay out of the heat and stay safe.
We got our pictures of the goody exchange up.
Chef!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I've been playing with the toys all day! I just can't control myself! I've been leaving them all over the house so that I can conveniently play with them whenever I'm ready! Heehehe...
Mmmmmm and your mom's garden looks delicious. I wish I had grass, but since we are renting a house right now, my human says she doesn't want to pay to put grass in the yard. I'm totally okay with that though, 'cause when the dirt gets wet, I have mud!
Ummm Satan just jumped on my humans bed...I dont think i approve of this behavior!!! Chef! Shhe's now pokey pawing all over my human and licking her! She's taking over my territory! This isn't right is it?
I can't wait till you get your package! I hope you love it!
Slurp!
Mr. T-Bone Beasley
Sounds like your Mummy is busy. I think thats secret code for, lets ignore the dog, but I could be wrong. Hope the busy ends soon.

Our Mom tends to get really busy this time of year too...must be a Mom thing. We're having a heat wave too...time for frosty paws!!!
Lola
Hope your mom remembers to bring a slobber rag to the show this weekend. You will be producing mucho suds if they weather remains hot.
I agree on the gardening. I do try to help with weeding around the fruit trees, but mom says I kick up too much extra dirt and am all messing things up.
Whatever.

I hope you and your human will be able to have some real hang-out time together again soon! It must be tough when she's so busy...
Those garden pictures are certainly beautiful... I bet the flowers would taste lovely, hee hee.

Hi Chef!
Your mama's gardens look beautiful!! It is so hot here too - I am trying to lay low to stay cool. Glad to hear your mom is finishing up some projects so she will be able to spend more time with you!
Love Clover xo

Good luck at your dog show! We'll be rooting for you!
Love ya lots,

Yes Chef....I know what you mean. I will be so happy when the Lakers are done playing basketball and then I get some human attention. I am so tired of hearing them shout at the television!!

Your mom needs to quit being busy and spend more time with you. We are posting about my goody box tonight.
Chef,
You make the garden look good! Doesn't your momma know if woudn't be a garden without you??
Have fun at your show and stay cool! Your momma rocks as the reporter for our exchange!
Aire hugs,
Willow
BARK!! Mommy and daddy have been doing a lot of digging lately too. She even put out a bunch of good smelling dirt, but she thought it was stinky. Dumb Max could dig way faster than she does.
We have been hot out here too. On our last walk, I just gave up and sat down. That set mommy straight and she rushed us home.
BARK! Sasha the Princess
PS- you remind mommy of her friend in Washington.
Chef, pal, I feel for you cos my Mom is too busy too.... didn't have time for me to wag over to see you till now ...always making me late.
Your garden looks pretty, apart from the lack of sticks of course. Sticks are the best but lets not tell that to our pals who like balls or there won't be enough for me and you!
Good luck in the dog show Chef.
Wagging, Eric
Such a beautiful garden! My mom's been playing with her weeds a lot lately too. I sorta miss the snow. *sigh*
Good luck with the show!
luv ya

Chef, your Mom's garden is boo-tiful! My Mom is very jealous because hers doesn't look nearly as nice. The only thing that grows really well are her roses, but she says what's the point since I like to bite their little heads off. Hope you are staying cool in the heat wave!
xoxo - Bella
